ElectronicRhythm.com presents Underground Movement Show. Discovering the artists shaping underground electronic music.

Interview - Live Recorded Set

Every artist has a story long before they ever step behind the decks. Long before the festival stages, club residencies, and late-night dancefloors, there is a journey built from countless hours of searching for music, refining an artistic voice, and discovering how to communicate emotion through sound.

For Episode 123 of the Underground Movement Show, ElectronicRhythm.com welcomes Daniela—New York-based DJ, producer, creative director, event curator, and community builder—for an evening that captures both her musical philosophy and the energy she brings to the dancefloor.

Recorded live inside One77 Brooklyn, this episode begins with an intimate one-on-one conversation where Daniela reflects on the experiences that have shaped her artistic path. We discuss her beginnings within underground electronic music, the evolution of her sound, the importance of creating meaningful spaces for people to connect, and the ideas that continue to inspire her creative work today.

As always on the Underground Movement Show, our goal is not simply to ask questions—it is to uncover the stories behind the music. Every artist approaches electronic music differently, and hearing those perspectives while their work continues to evolve gives us a deeper appreciation for the creative process itself.

Following the interview, the atmosphere shifts from conversation to experience as Daniela takes control of the room with an exclusive 90-minute live DJ set, recorded in front of an intimate audience at One77.

Rather than remaining confined to a single genre or predictable formula, Daniela allows her performances to unfold organically. Progressive House, Melodic House, Tribal House, Afro House, Organic House, Indie Dance, and deeper underground textures weave together naturally, creating a set that continuously evolves without ever losing its sense of direction.

Each transition feels intentional. Every track serves a purpose. Instead of chasing trends or relying on familiar anthems, Daniela builds momentum through emotion, groove, atmosphere, and discovery—inviting listeners to become immersed in a musical narrative that rewards patience and curiosity.

The result is a performance that feels equally at home on a late-night dancefloor as it does during a personal listening session.

Beyond her work as a performer, Daniela has become known for her commitment to strengthening the underground community itself. Through thoughtfully curated events, collaborations, and creative direction, she continues to build environments where music remains the central focus and genuine connections can flourish. That philosophy closely reflects the values that have guided ElectronicRhythm.com since its beginning.

The Underground Movement Show was created to give artists a platform where their stories, personalities, and music could exist together—not simply as another DJ mix, but as a living document of the people helping shape today’s electronic music culture.

Episode 123 continues that mission.

Whether you’ve followed Daniela’s work for years or this is your first introduction to her sound, we invite you to experience both the conversation and the performance from beginning to end. Listen closely as the interview provides context for the music that follows, and allow the live recording to transport you through a carefully crafted journey of rhythm, melody, and atmosphere.

At ElectronicRhythm.com, we believe some of the most inspiring artists aren’t always the loudest voices in electronic music—they’re the ones quietly pushing forward, creating with intention, taking risks, and reminding us why we fell in love with this culture in the first place.

We’re honored to share Daniela’s story with you.

Welcome to Underground Movement Show Episode 123.

Daniela / Deep Playa - NYC

Bio:

Daniela is the Soundtrack of Sunrise — a DJ, producer, and creative director known for marathon sunrise sets that move dance floors through tension, release, and cosmic depth. From beach stages in Brooklyn and Miami to jungle altars, forest stages, and open-air gatherings, she crafts emotionally-driven, cinematic journeys that blend shadow, euphoria, and expansive states into a transformative experience. Her superpower is her range — she moves fluidly across a wide array of genres, reading and meeting any room at any hour of the day or night.

A cornerstone of NYC’s underground, she founded Deep Playa NYC in 2020 — producing and DJing 50+ events for crowds of up to 1,200 — and created the all-female platform Her Name Is Shakti. She served as Music Director & Stage Designer for CAMP Festival (2022–2025) and was commissioned by Philadelphia’s Mütter Museum for a four-hour immersive Halloween performance. Classically trained in piano from age three and shaped on the floors of Limelight, Twilo, Sound Factory, and David Mancuso’s legendary Loft, her sound carries a 25-year NYC dance music lineage.
